Terms & Conditions of the DigiTribe Affiliate Universe

DigiTribe is a collection of well-known brands in travel & tourism (and other industries) that have joined forces to give you as publisher access to their exclusive affiliate programs. All programs are rewarding and located on one easy to use platform: the DigiTribe Affiliate Universe.

We welcome quality publishers, bloggers, and influencers that want to earn money by promoting our affiliate brands. The rules are simple: you generate traffic to the advertisers' websites, as soon as the referral leads to a conversion (sale/booking) you will be rewarded. The system is created for serious affiliate partners, not for travellers just looking to "get an extra discount" on their booking. By accessing this page and continuing your affiliate application on DigiTribe you will have agreed to abide by these affiliate terms & conditions. This is logged by our system. If a conversion breaches these T&C's it will be rejected and no commission is awarded.

SEA (search engine marketing/advertising)

Search engine marketing is explicitly not allowed for any of our campaigns. You are not allowed to link directly to the Advertiser's website and any underlying pages or subdomains via search engines.

It is not allowed to bid on keywords that are relevant to the advertiser and their brand name. This includes brand names, misspellings of brand names, and combinations of the brand name with generic terms such as "discount", "coupon", "promo code" or "voucher".

Copyright, brand names & domains

You are not allowed to infringe on any of the advertisers' brand names, artwork and other items protected by copyright law. You are not allowed to pretend to be the advertiser, this includes advertising as well.

Registering domain names that are identical or similar to any advertiser's brand name (including misspellings and variations) and redirecting them to the advertiser's or your own website is not allowed.

Self-referrals & own bookings

Affiliates are not allowed to earn commission on their own bookings, or on bookings made for friends, family members, or business relations. These conversions will be disapproved and commission will not be awarded. The system is created for serious affiliate partners, not for travellers just looking to "get an extra discount" on their booking.

Discount & promo codes

Discount code sites are only allowed when an advertiser has added them to their affiliate program. You are not allowed to give people the illusion that promo codes or discount codes exist for a particular advertiser when they don't. You are also not allowed to promote codes that are not issued via the advertiser's official affiliate program, for example codes from newsletters, paid social or other (internal) campaigns.

Incentivised traffic & cashback

Incentivised traffic (cashback, rewards points, charity donations, or any other form of incentivisation) is only allowed when the advertiser has explicitly enabled this. Incentivised sites must clearly inform their users what action is required to receive the incentive.

Subnetworks

Subnetworks are not allowed for any advertiser in our affiliate network.

Cookie stuffing, adware & browser extensions

Cookie stuffing, forced clicks, automatic opening of tracking links, adware, toolbars, and browser extensions that redirect traffic, manipulate tracking, or artificially generate referrals are not allowed. Any artificially generated traffic, clicks, or conversions will be rejected.

Email marketing

Sending commercial emails that promote our advertisers is only allowed with prior written approval of the advertiser. Any email promotion must comply with anti-spam legislation (including but not limited to the NZ Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act, the Australian Spam Act 2003, and CAN-SPAM). Misleading subject lines or sender details are not allowed.

Misleading claims

You are not allowed to make misleading or false claims about the advertisers, their products, prices, availability, or offers. Prices and product information on your website must be accurate and kept up to date.

Attribution, deduplication & fraud checks

Referrals are tracked using cookieless tracking technology (via our affiliate platform). Attribution takes place on a last-click basis with an attribution window of 30 days (unless stated otherwise in the program description). Deduplication takes place based on last-click counts against the following channels: SEA (non-branded), Display, Social Media and Retargeting. Combined with advanced fraud rules & checks our systems will check every conversion to make sure the rules are followed.

Fraud = breaking these affiliate terms & conditions, for example but not limited to, copyright infringement, using tracked links to purchase advertisers' products or services or running brand name ads.

Commission, payments & cancellations

Commission is only awarded on confirmed (completed) bookings. If a booking is cancelled, amended, or refunded, the commission will be reversed or adjusted accordingly. Commission is not awarded on taxes, fees, surcharges, and any amounts refunded to the customer.

Commission is paid out according to the payment terms of the DigiTribe platform, once the applicable minimum payout threshold has been reached and the validation period has passed.

Affiliate partners we would like to welcome to our affiliate system

The following types of affiliate partners are the ones we encourage to apply to our affiliate system.

  • Content-driven – Blogs & bloggers or magazines that focus on creating amazing and informative content that their fans love. Content that ranks well in its category and generates organic traffic for your site. Our affiliate links will fit perfectly in the appropriate articles and will generate earnings for you.
  • Comparison sites – Sites that provide actual and real comparisons between a wide range of products.
  • Influencers that can add value to our advertisers.
  • Any site that can add value in a creative way, without going against our terms & conditions. We welcome a wide range of affiliate publishers.

Publishers that will be rejected straight-away

Any publisher that focuses on the following will be denied access to our affiliate programs.

  • Coupon or discount code sites (unless explicitly allowed by the advertiser)
  • Publishers that use any form of advertising based on brand or the type of products or services our advertisers sell
  • Sub-affiliate networks, as we prefer to only work with the publisher that will promote our brands. No man in the middle needed.

Data protection

We use cookieless tracking, which means no tracking cookies are placed on the devices of your visitors. You must still comply with all applicable privacy and data protection laws (including but not limited to the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, the Australian Privacy Act 1988, and where applicable the GDPR). You are not allowed to share any personal data of your users with the advertisers or DigiTribe, other than what is strictly necessary for tracking and attribution via the affiliate platform.

Termination

Both parties can end the affiliate partnership at any time. DigiTribe and its advertisers reserve the right to terminate the partnership with immediate effect if these terms & conditions are breached. Upon termination, commissions on validated conversions that were generated before the termination date will still be paid out, unless the partnership was terminated due to fraud or a breach of these T&C's.

Changes to these terms & conditions

DigiTribe and its advertisers reserve the right to update these terms & conditions at any time. The latest version will always be published on this page. Continued use of the affiliate program after changes have been published means you agree to the updated terms & conditions.

Limitation of liability & governing law

DigiTribe and its advertisers are not liable for any indirect damages, loss of income, or loss of data resulting from the use of the affiliate program. The affiliate program is governed by the laws of New Zealand.
